OverviewMaersk Global Data Privacy Team (part of IT Law Team in Global Legal) is seeking a Data Privacy Legal Counsel in the area of compliance with Chinese and global data privacy laws and regulations (especially PIPL). The position will be located primarily Shanghai, in China. This is an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience with data privacy, corporate compliance, and in-house legal work with a major global company and collaborate with the Chief Data Privacy Compliance Officer and Global Data Privacy Team.You will, among other things: · support and advice local management to ensure that our business is conducted in compliance with legal requirements, regulations and Maersk internal policies · Assist and drive implementation and embedding of data privacy and relevant compliance controls in China· Be the primary subject matter expert and business partner for local business relating to data privacy and related areas· Monitor and support if data privacy compliance activities are being executed by local entities What we are looking for:· Legal education and experience with the concept of data privacy with special focus on Chinese data privacy laws and regulation, especially PIPL· Interest in global data privacy · Fluent in English, both written and spoken · Working knowledge of Office 365 (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint)· Comfortable with working independently with business stakeholders, thinking “big picture”, meeting deadlines, and adapting to shifting priorities What you can expect:The starting date is as soon as possible.
