Role Definition
This role will support the advancement of automation projects across Caterpillar’s Asia-Pacific region. The ideal candidate is expected to have solid experience in computer vision applications, including but not limited to visual measurement, defect detection in manufacturing environments, OCR / text recognition for quality control and product traceability, etc.
Key Job Responsibilities
61 Deliver and support AI-based inspection projects in manufacturing environments.
61 Develop and deploy computer vision solutions for defect detection, visual measurement, and OCR applications.
61 Support system integration with automation equipment and quality/traceability systems.
61 Optimize model performance and ensure stable operation in production.
61 Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and automation teams to drive project success.
Key Requirements
61 Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
61 5 years of relevant experience in AI vision inspection, industrial automation, or manufacturing-related AI projects.
61 Solid understanding of end-to-end industrial vision system architecture, with hands-on experience in camera, lens, and lighting selection and setup.
61 Proficient in image acquisition and calibration processes.
61 Ability to independently deploy end-to-end AI vision inspection solutions, from data collection and model training to system deployment in production environments.
61 Strong Python programming skills, with hands-on experience using mainstream AI / machine learning frameworks.
61 Capable of integrating AI model outputs with downstream systems, enabling deployment within business systems or industrial applications.
61 Demonstrated project management capability, including coordination across functions and delivery against project timelines.
Additional Information:
The position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
